Who is Tallaght Childcare ?
A. Tallaght Childcare are community based full-time crèches operating from Millbrook Lawns and Fettercairn, Tallaght, Dublin 24. Tallaght Childcare has been in operation since September 1997 and has provided full-time and part-time care for over 700 children to date. These services included the provision of high quality developmental childcare in line with best practice and the facilitation of parents in enhancing their parenting skills and in taking up opportunities for education, training and employment. Tallaght Childcare continues to provide quality childhood care and education which supports the holistic development of the child. Tallaght Childcare continues to provide equal access to low income parents through the development of an appropriate fee structure mechanism.
What are the opening hours?
A. We open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday inclusive.
What age groups do you cater for?
A. We cater for children between the ages of 1-5 years of age.
Do you close for the summer?
A. No we are open througout the summer and only close during Christmas break and for bank holidays and staff training days.
Do I need to pack a meal/snack for my child?
A. No. Our menu is varied and we use fresh produce where we can. Our menus follow the food pyramid, which is the definitive guide to ensuring your child gets all their daily nutritional needs. We have a 4 week menu plan that ensures a variety of different nutrients and tastes which will help to educate your child’s palate (see full menus in the Parents Section).
Q. Do you have an outdoor play area?
A. Yes we have safe garden play areas for the children at both locations.
Do you do music/ singing and physical activities with the children?
A. Yes. Singing and music provide much fun for the children and is a great way to build confidence. Every day no matter the weather we have outdoor play with physical activity/ games for the children.
Do you operate an open door policy?
A. Yes we have a complete open door policy and allow parents of all children to come at any time should they wish to see how their child is doing and we do not require prior notice.
Are you registered?
A. Yes, we are fully health board notified and provide an Early Childhood Care and Education service that includes ECCE, CCS and TEC funding. As a result we are inspected regularly by the Tulsa and Pobal.
What qualifications do your staff have?
A. Our staff are qualified to minimum Fetac Level 5 and Advanced Supervision in Childcare Fetac Level 6. Ongoing and update training is provided to all staff in all aspects of childcare including First Aid, Manual Handling and Child Protection. This is an integral and continuous part of our staff development programme.
Can I call in to see the Centre?
A. Visitors are welcome to come in and have a chat, at any time and look around provided they ring first to make an appointment.
